Recognizing that the religious freedom and human rights violations of Kashmiri Pandits has been ongoing since 1989.

August 1, 2011

Recognizing that the religious freedom and human rights violations of Kashmiri Pandits has been ongoing since 1989.

Whereas Jammu and Kashmir has an ancient culture of religious tolerance and pluralism, where Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Christians practiced their faith freely in an atmosphere of mutual respect and peace until 1989;

Whereas Kashmiri Pandits are the original inhabitants of Kashmir, tracing their heritage and culture back several millennia;

Whereas Kashmiri Pandits have been the victims of documented human rights violations resulting in the severe curtailment of their religious freedom for more than two decades;

Whereas the Kashmiri Pandit population has declined from 400,000 in 1989 to a current level of less than 4,000 in the Kashmir valley and many Pandits continue to live in refugee camps;

Whereas international human rights organizations have noted the campaign of intimidation and violence directed by foreign militants and foreign terrorist organizations against Kashmiri Pandits;

Whereas thousands of Kashmiri Pandits, elected officials, and military personnel have been killed in terrorist attacks; and

Whereas numerous groups that have claimed responsibility for these attacks have been designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the United States Department of State: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives–

(1) condemns the extremist violence, lack of religious freedom, and human rights violations committed against Kashmiri Pandits, which they have endured for more than two decades; and

(2) insists that terrorist infrastructure in the region must be dismantled and terrorists should be held accountable for their actions.

    Dear sir,

    I am so happy that International forum like ” House of Representatives” are concerned about hidden agenda of Muslims. I would like the world to notify the word, ” EXPANSIONISM OF ISLAM IN THE REGION”. When people talk of plebicite in Kasmir; they know for sure, muslim fundamentailists would do their job successfully and plan for subsequent division of India; having second largest muslim population in the world.
    Conversions of HINDUS to muslims in Kashmir Valley had been a historical fact. How can some-one suggest division of any country on account of relegion, colour, language, caste and philosphy?

    I very strongly recommend, a very strong action agaist those who are contemplating expnsionism of Islam Policy sit may affect the asiaan region very badly.

    I know Kashmere psyche; no family of kashmir would ever accept absence of children from home in the evening. They have stong and affectionate family bondings. They hd alwats been peace-lovers. No one could believe militants arisings amongst them. Pakistan’s ISI exploited poor people like ,” Bit kasai, a butcher r/o nishat, javed nalka, a plumber r/o down town.

    Our Govt posed ignorant; when inputs of Jamaite- Islaami, Al-hadeed, Jamaite Tulbaa were fed to to north nd south block. Even today, DEOBANDEES, disciples from ,”DEOBAN” are found adding madrassas all around the borders of Bangla desh and we can do nothing beyond sielient spectators. Intelligence Bureau; hs all the information but in democracy, we caan do nothing on account of vote bank. Entire demographic pattren has changed on the eastren side of National Highway SILIGURI- KOLKAATTA. In this context, CPI, CPIM(M) AND FORWARD BLOCK ensured all the muslims even those migerated from Bngladesh get their Voting I/cards, ration cards and residentil security, Indian govt is giving free hand to muslims to movr across the border as they have yet to settle the issues of ,” EXCHANGE OF ENCLAVES” with Bangladesh.

    Indo bangla desh problem is a burning example of Muslim expansionism. They have shunted-out 80% of Hindus from Bangladesh. Are we still blind to understand what muslim fanatics are doing openly ?

    Let’ save the region aand curtail muslim expansionism policy.

    You Pandits are biggest natakbaz.You people are creating bad name for Muslims of Kashmir.It was Jagmohan who lured you to move out of valley so that he could kill muslims.You don’t deserve to live in Kashmir or any other place.you should go to tankanyika or Antartica……

    Mr Smart man; You have the right to speak; but be honest in accepting the fact that it was Jamaite Islami of Pakistan and ISI combined together who started the clandestine activities in Punjab & Kashmir (India) to avenge the defeat in 1971 war. Jamaite Islami will now take Pakistan to task; wait and watch.
    Pakistanis and that mullahs had been holding meeting under the canvass spread out for,”HAJ”. Money laundering and clandestine operations were the ultimate aimed to oust Hindus from the valley and annex Kashmir from India.
    Battle of Basantar in 1971 war was an attempt to annex J&K from rest of India; which you guys failed. Your attempt to annex Punjab & J&k in 1983 onward also failed. You are again trying to ignite fire in Punjab; better you guys behave ! I am sure you are not a Kashmiri; none of the Kashmiri will ever write against Kashmiri Pundits the way you have written. Perhaps you don’t know the kashmiriat.
